“Disaster” has been chosen as a featured photography piece (only 5 photography pieces were selected) at The Artery in The River District, The Asheville Area Art Council’s gallery space. The show will be up from May 4th to the 26th, and there will be an opening reception on May 4 from 5:00-7:00.

It’s an unraveling play
When the Actors were merely Characters
Who metamorphosized into their roles
As time cracked its knuckles and sputtered along
Becoming grandiose versions of their former selves
Ever worried about the opinions of their audience
Yet transforming entirely into the imaginary selves
They invented in their own minds as children.
Adulthood appears to be nothing more than the
“Working Out the Details” of their childhood dreams.
And that’s only speaking for the lucky and the wise.
Those young Characters who transformed into Actors
who chase the golden dollar for the best picture
-esque view from their office window
And defy human value with their batting eyelashes
and polished mustaches and their sharp suit…
And their sharp teeth and their sharp claws.
The frightening idea would be that the actor
Could pull off seeming a character
And the Character, Actor.
Until we’re left to spend all the rest of our days
“Working Out the Details” of our adulthood stage.
The stage where dreams are born through
Systems, air waves, and satellites.
We have magical potential when we remember
We’re dreaming.
